Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Cloudflare. When the pages are accessed, the provider processes technically necessary access data (among others the shortened IP address, date and time of access, page accessed, amount of data transferred and the browser used). This data serves solely the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning web presence (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The access data is deleted after 30 days at the latest, unless it is exceptionally needed for longer, for instance to investigate an attack on the website.

Cloudflare acts as our processor on the basis of a contract pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. This may involve a transfer of data to the USA, based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.

Encrypted transmission

This website is transmitted exclusively in encrypted form (HTTPS). You can tell by the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar.

Fonts and embeds

The fonts used are stored on our own server and loaded from there. There is no connection to external font services. We also do not embed maps, videos or social network buttons. Apart from the hosting and the audience measurement described below, no data is transferred to third parties when you visit this website.

Getting in touch

This website has no contact form. If you write to us by email, we process your details solely in order to answer your enquiry. Your message goes straight to our mailbox, without passing through this website. We do not pass this data on and delete it as soon as it is no longer needed and no statutory retention periods apply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

No cookies, no tracking profiles

We use no cookies and no advertising networks. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making. What we measure is limited to the anonymous audience measurement described in the following section.

Audience measurement (Umami)

To understand which pages and projects people are interested in, we use the open-source software Umami. It runs on a server in the EU (Hetzner, Finland) operated for the association by our board member Roman Thomas. Umami works without cookies and creates no profiles. It only collects anonymous usage data: pages visited, referrer, browser and device type, approximate region. IP addresses are not stored, individual persons cannot be identified from these data, and nothing is passed on to advertising networks or other third parties. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly audience measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No cookie banner is required for this.

External links

In a few places this website links to the pages of our partners and funders (for example the City of Celle, the District of Celle and Stadtwerke Celle). The respective provider is responsible for the data processing on those external pages.

Your rights

You have the right to information, correction, deletion and restriction of the processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability. Simply contact us at the address above.

You may object at any time to processing that we base on our legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). Where direct marketing is concerned, no reason needs to be given.
